HOW TO PLAY SUCESSFUL POKER STEP BY STEP 2

What do the opposite players have? Now missing those x-ray glasses they used to promote in the comics while you were a child, how can you possibly know? This is the fine art of the ‘tells’ – assessing the other pokerholics hands.

First of all, consider the odds for the other players. In our card game, there is a 2 card straight on the board. Some other player needs to have a 56 or 69 or 9T in any suit and they are close to a straight. (Afterwards we will demonstrate you precisely how to work out the precise odds.)

It is very probable that someone at the table is 1 or 2 cards from a straight. And they yet have two additional cards to fill up that straight.

Clearly, you need three of a kind to continue in the card game. Another King.

As far as you know, there are 2 other Kings in the deck (you never reckon what you believe someone else has in their down cards). The odds are easy to calculate.

There are seventeen cards dealt (based on 3 down and 7 players with 2 cards each). You need 2 out of 17 cards = 11.7% odds. The card-playing starts and you are able to see the pot is $180 when it progresses to you.

How much can you bet? 11.7% of $180 = $20.

If you know that you need another King to win, the most you should bet to see the following card (based on what you know) is $20.

You have one additional very useful bit of information at this point. You can see how others are wagering. This should give you a good sense, combined with your interpretation of the table before you began, of what kind of cards they have. Let’s see the next card – the TURN card – a six of hearts.

WHAT WOULD BE THE NEXT STEP IF YOU KNEW THAT ONE OF THE OTHER CARDSHARKS ALREADY HAD FLOPPED A STRAIGHT?

You would fold. You do not need the grief!

Well – we say it again, never bet on ‘the come’.

“A fundamental rule in poker - if they have got you beat and you recognize it, fold now.” Insider Tip

Aye, you might get a card to improve your hand but so can they, so unless you are able to see the following card free of charge, do not blow your money.

The call into question is how do you know what the other player has got? Are you making the conclusion supported how they are betting? Maybe they are bluffing out.

You know you can’t beat a straight with a set (three of a kind). Then again, beside the PAIR of KINGS, you have four cards in a straight – 6,7,8,9.

How come you should not play anything below AT off suit? Why it’s better to have A5s and below or ATs and above over something in the midst like A8s? Any Ace unsuited hand under AT can be big trouble in any kind of game.

A few poker players may even believe AT and AJ difficult hands too but for the stakes you are going to be playing in they are passable starting hands. The reason A8, A7, A5 all suck is because you actually can't hit very much to pull ahead. Take A8 for instance.

Your kicker is not that high, the 8, and you have zero probability of making any straights or flushes. The lonesome way you can come through really is to hope that they have a weaker Ace then you do and you grab one.

Playing poker is as if investing in the stock exchange. You prefer to commit your money into great stock that has a probability to deliver a good return. A8 is not that kinda stock.Period.

Now let`s move on to the next page.
